Sun Catchers

Here’s how Messy Art Preschool made these beautiful sun catchers!

What you’ll need:

  • Cardboard Frames (any shape would work!)

  • Clear Contact Paper

  • Tissue Paper

  • Cellophane

  • Glitter

  • Confetti, Sequins and any other fun bits and bobs you can think of!

  • Hole punch and Yarn for hanging

  • Optional water colour paints to paint the frame

I started out by using a box cutter to cut square frames from some recycled cardboard I had. These could be any shape really! Im excited to try some different versions of this in the future!

Then I stuck contact paper to one side of the frames. Sticky side up!

The children then stuck tissue paper, cello paper, glitter, confetti and sequins onto their contact paper

Some children dumped everything onto their sun catchers and other children took time to place each individual piece.

We then used watercolour paints to paint the frames.

It was fun to watch them work! And they were all so proud of their outcomes.
